A Short Trip For East Providence Patients
Proximity is not a small thing in orthodontics. Treatment runs a year or more with short visits every several weeks, so a practice you can reach quickly is one where appointments do not become a scheduling problem. For East Providence families, we are close enough that a check-up can fit into a lunch break or the window before school pickup.

Dr. Jessica Collins, a board-certified orthodontist, treats the full range of cases:
- Early evaluations. Following the American Association of Orthodontists, we recommend a first orthodontic check-up by age 7. Most children that age need only monitoring; some benefit from short interceptive orthodontics to guide jaw growth.
- Children and teens. braces for kids and braces for teens in metal, tooth-colored ceramic, or WildSmiles brackets, plus clear aligners for patients who will wear them consistently.
- Adults. braces for adults and Invisalign for adults, including treatment for teeth that crowded again after childhood orthodontics.
- Retention. Retainers and a realistic long-term plan, because teeth drift for life.
How We Diagnose
Every case starts with a complimentary exam and digital records. Our iTero scanner captures a detailed 3D model of your teeth in minutes — no putty impressions — and CBCT imaging lets us evaluate root positions and jaw structures when the case calls for it. Dr. Collins then walks you through what she sees and what she would recommend, including when the recommendation is to wait. She earned her DMD at Boston University and completed her orthodontic residency at the University of Washington, and she plans every case herself rather than delegating it to a treatment coordinator.
Practical Details
Consultations are complimentary. If treatment is recommended, our team reviews payment options in full before anything starts — payment plans, assignment of your dental insurance orthodontic benefits, and a 5% courtesy when treatment is paid in full. We will also coordinate directly with your general dentist, which matters for adult cases involving crowns, implants, or gum health.

Braces Or Aligners?
Both reach the same destination by different routes. Fixed types of braces work continuously without depending on anyone’s memory, handle the widest range of corrections, and come in metal, tooth-colored ceramic, or WildSmiles shapes. Clear aligners are removable and nearly invisible, keep brushing and flossing normal, and are excellent for the right patient — but they only move teeth while they are in the mouth.
Dr. Collins will make a specific recommendation for your case rather than leaving you to guess, and she will tell you when the option you came in asking about is the wrong one.
