At Providence Orthodontics, we believe every smile deserves the tools to be healthy — not just the patients who walk through our doors, but the wider Providence community we call home. That’s why we were honored to donate 300 toothbrushes to Brush Bridge, a brand-new, youth-led oral health initiative right here in Rhode Island — and to be named their very first dental office partner.
What is Brush Bridge?
Brush Bridge launched in 2026 as a 100% volunteer-driven effort to make oral health education and dental care more accessible across Rhode Island. Founded and led by a local high school student, the initiative focuses on three goals:
Oral health education for children, teens, and families
Community outreach, through partnerships with schools, shelters, libraries, and other local organizations
Free dental hygiene kits, assembled and distributed to families who need them most
In its founding year alone, Brush Bridge has already hosted a community outreach event at the Boys & Girls Club’s Chad Brown Clubhouse in Providence and assembled its first hygiene kits — all while building the kind of grassroots momentum that turns a good idea into a lasting community resource.
Why We Said Yes
When we learned about a student in our own city stepping up to tackle a real gap in oral health access, it was an easy decision. Good dental habits start early, and they stick best when kids have the right tools and the right encouragement — something our team sees every day in our own patients. Supporting an initiative built around exactly that mission felt like a natural extension of the work we already do.
Our 300 toothbrushes will help stock Brush Bridge’s dental hygiene kits, giving more Rhode Island families a simple but meaningful head start on healthy habits.
A First of Many, We Hope
Being named Brush Bridge’s first dental office partner means a lot to us — not because we did anything extraordinary, but because it’s a reminder that meaningful change often starts small: one student, one idea, one box of toothbrushes.
